Half of travel firms are aiming to increase the amount of money they pump into internet marketing in the near future.
At least this is what new research from Whatsonwhen and Travolution suggests, with 45 out of the 90 firms asked in a survey claiming they wish to expand their online advertising budgets soon.
Search engine optimisation and adword are the two sectors likely to receive the biggest increases, the statistics imply, with 66 per cent and 46 per cent of the firms wanting to put more money into these areas respectively.
Meanwhile, 21 per cent are looking to cut down the amount they spend on banner advertising, as an increasing number of reports come out suggesting other forms of marketing are more effective.
The study follows a prediction from the European Interactive Advertising Association last week, which stated that online advertising will probably take up a larger part of overall marketing budgets in the future.
