There are a number of ways in which bloggers can get those visiting for the first time to make repeat visits, according to one expert.
E-consultancy's Graham Charlton said that these include making it easy for readers to add the blog to their RSS feed readers and providing full feeds rather than partial ones.
Allowing comments and moderating these after they have been posted rather than triggering a delay by reviewing them beforehand can also help readers to better engage with the blog.
Creating interesting, unique content and refraining from placing ads in inappropriate places to enhance usability can also go a long way towards encouraging return visits, Mr Charlton stated.
"People will only want to return to your site if you have some content that interests them, so make sure you have something to say that will interest people," he commented.
Mr Charlton posted a list of the pros and cons of corporate blogging last week, with advantages including enhanced search engine optimisation and the addition of a viable feedback channel.
