A significant proportion of small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) are considering using Web 2.0 in their marketing campaigns, a new survey has indicated.
Two-fifths of respondents said they were going to look into using Web 2.0 in marketing duringthe next 12 months, according to the poll by The Kelsey Group and ConStat.
About 30 per cent said the same about social media, with 26 per cent expressing a particular interest in the potential offered by online video.
Furthermore, most respondents indicated that they are going to either spend more or the same on marketing activities in the next year.
Stephen Marshall of The Kelsey Group remarked: "The data reveal[s] a remarkable resilience of the SMB advertising segment in the face of economic pressures on local consumers and businesses."
The Interactive Advertising Bureau and PricewaterhouseCoopers said earlier this year that online advertising spending is believed to have increased by 25 per cent in 2007.
