Yahoo announces web finds

Judges are set to vote on the most creative, innovative and amusing websites within the UK as part of Yahoo's Finds of the Year campaign, it has emerged.

Experts must choose winners from 40 websites from eight categories in the event, which is now in its sixth year, reports Pocket-lint.

Among the sites shortlisted are the weird and wonderful category's Stopped Clocks website, which shares a person's passion for finding and fixing stopped clocks across the UK.

Doggy Snaps in the social category is also proud to have become the first UK-based website dedicated to dog lovers where users can build profiles and list personality traits for their beloved pets, the article notes.

Guest judges for this year's include last year's winner Michael Phillips for cowforce.com, Yahoo Search's Saim Mitha, Tom Whitwell of Times Online and Vogue's Serena Privett, according to the news provider.

The public can choose their own winner's in a people's choice version of the contest via Yahoo's Finds of the Year website
