Recruitment firms 'benefit' from online techniques

13th December 2007

Recruitment businesses need to "conquer some of the basics" to succeed in 2008, it has been claimed.

According to Andrew Wilkinson, chief executive of recruitment and communications agency TMP Worldwide, the key to keeping up with the digital trend is through ensuring a brand is as visible online as possible, reported in Recruiter Magazine.

"Visibility continues to be the key and this means concentrating on search engine optimisation and marketing," he explained.

Armando Ruffini, chief executive of the online referral and reward company, commented that social networking sites have become increasingly important in the industry as firms take advantage of widgets.

He explained that whereas job boards only allow recruiters to target those actively seeking employment, social networking sites allow them to access passive users.

The magazine claims the previous year was "the year for social networking" and that this trend shows no sign of letting up during 2008.

All businesses will benefit from seeking professional advice about search engine optimisation, according to the Internet Advertising Bureau.
