A programme aimed at helping non-profit organisations maximise their donation streams has been launched by YouTube.
The Google-owned video sharing website says that the new scheme will make it easier for non-profit organisations to target their core audience.
Maryrose Dunton commented: "In the past few years, online video has emerged as a key tool for grassroots organising on the internet.
"A short, simple video can demonstrate the impact and the needs of an organisation in a uniquely compelling fashion."
Among the first 13 participants in the programme are the American Cancer Society, YouthNoise and Friends of the Earth.
In other news today, it has been reported that Microsoft is looking to expand its presence in the business applications market by making its Office package available online.
The Financial Times described Microsoft's move as "a new front in its battle with Google".
