Small businesses may be able to improve the returns they get from their online marketing campaigns by taking up blogging.
This is according to the US News & World Report, which suggested that setting up an online blog can help to give search engine optimisation (SEO) a boost and attract potential customers.
Small firms considering making the move to blogging should first read other blogs to see how the practice works, as well as consider only simple SEO tactics to begin with, the news source advised.
Blogger Chris Brogan said on the topic of SEO: "Small businesses are starting to understand that people don't come to your main web page. They ask Google."
According to recently released figures from Technorati, about 900,000 new blog posts are published to the web every 24 hours and each online journal covers an average of five subject areas each.
