Search engine Google has made a huge leap up Interbrand's list of the world's best brands, it has been revealed.
The company - which was the number one search engine in the US last month, according to Hitwise - ranked 20th last year, but is now up to tenth.
Jez Frampton, Interbrand's chief executive, suggested the list is a reflection of "the growth of emerging markets and the increased emphasis on sustainability".
Google's strength was demonstrated earlier this week when it was revealed by Nielsen Online how much discussion was created by the launch of the firm's Chrome browser.
A spokesperson for the firm claimed Chrome was the subject of almost one per cent of all online discussions the day after the release, which is "slightly more than half of what the highly anticipated iPhone 3G generated".
Above Google in the brand list were Coca Cola, IBM and Microsoft, which took up the top three positions.
