Uploading too many new articles to a website during a very short period of time could be detrimental to a website's search engine optimisation (SEO) campaign, it has been claimed.
While making regular new updates can hold significant benefits for SEO, forcing 100 new articles a day onto a site can lead to search engines viewing that site in a negative light, according to Caroline Melberg of Small Business Mavericks.
"Search engines look for organic growth - in other words, growth that seems natural," she said.
"Since it's not likely that you were able to write 100 articles in one day, Google and the other search engines will see this as unnatural and will count it against you in your page ranking."
Ms Melberg also advised webmasters to ensure that keyword density in their copy does not exceed five per cent and that important terms appear in the right places.
Title tags, meta descriptions and meta keywords can also play a vital role in SEO, as long as they are tailored for each individual page, according to advice offered by Host-Review on Netimperative.
