Marketing executives can now examine data on popular search term volumes via a new tool released by Google this week.
The Google Insights for Search service is free to use and offers a wealth of data on specific searches over different time periods and across varying locations.
Users can filter information by category to examine which keywords are most popular in specific contexts and move figures of particular interest to a spreadsheet.
The application is similar to Google's recently revamped Trends tool, which also provides information on the most popular search queries conducted via the engine.
"[Google Insight for Search] provides more flexibility and functionality for advertisers and marketers to understand search behaviour, and adds some cool new features like a world heat map to graphically display search volume and regional interest," said Google's Trevor Claiborne on the Inside AdWords blog.
CNET News.com reports that the new tool could boost advertiser confidence and gain more AdWords customers for Google.
