Internet users in the UK made 3.9 billion online searches during June, with the bulk of these taking place on Google.
This is according to comScore, which released research today (August 5th) showing that 75.3 per cent of queries took place on Google during the month, representing an increase of 0.5 per cent against May's figures.
On average, each UK searcher made 124 online queries during June, or 4.1 per day, comScore said.
Other popular search engines included eBay, Yahoo!, Microsoft and the Ask network, although each of the four sites only held market share equivalent to a single-digit figure.
"AOL LLC's acquisition of UK social networking property Bebo.com expanded its share of search queries to 2.3 per cent, edging Facebook.com (2.2 per cent) into sixth place," said comScore.
Google was the most popular website for UK internet users in the 12 months ending June 2008, according to a recent study conducted by research firm Nielsen Online.
