A Birmingham-based company has seen its sales soar thanks to the launch of a new search engine-friendly website.
According to the Birmingham Post, personalised voucher provider Secure Vouchers - whose customers include small and medium-sized businesses - set up the site after realising that awareness of its services was relatively low.
After the company used search engine optimisation to help the likes of Google and Yahoo! find the website better, it saw a rise in orders from both the UK and internationally.
"Secure Vouchers [is] a great example of how you can be a big success if you make the most of search engines," said Liz Rowe of the National B2B Centre.
"And then, once they are on your site, you make it as simple as possible for customers to understand and buy your product."
Secure Vouchers marketing manager Michael Kelly added that the enterprise had helped the firm to cut its costs in several areas.
A recent study by Magnius found that three-quarters of online retailers have experienced an increase in sales in the past year, despite falls in consumer spending in general as a result of the economic downturn, Retail Bulletin reports.
