Google accounted for the majority of online searches made in the US last month, a new report has indicated.
About 61.5 per cent of all queries took place on Google sites in June, according to comScore, showing a slight decrease compared with the 61.8 per cent seen in May.
Furthermore, closest rivals Yahoo! and Microsoft both managed to increase their share of the search market, according to the figures, while Ask.com and AOL placed fourth and fifth in the rankings respectively.
The report suggested that social networking site Facebook saw the biggest increase in monthly search query volumes in June when the results were expanded to detail each site's search patterns.
Non-MySpace websites owned by Fox Interactive Media also experienced growth of about 29 per cent, the figures showed.
According to another comScore report launched earlier this month, more iPhone users utilise the mobile web than their counterparts with other types of smartphone.
