AOL has revealed that it is launching its Platform-A operations in the European online marketing sector.
Platform-A will bring together the work of units Advertising.com, Adtech and buy.at and technological innovations from Quigo, Tacoda and Third Screen Media, the company said.
AOL chairman and chief executive Randy Falco commented: "This builds on AOL's strong presence in Europe and positions AOL for growth in three key areas - publishing, people networks and our advertising network."
The platform was first launched in the US market in September 2007. AOL said at the time that the unit represented the last phase of its transformation from an internet access business to a global ad-supported web firm.
In April, comScore released a report showing that Platform-A reached over 170 million internet users - equivalent to just over 90 per cent of the US market - during the month of March.
