New toolbar agreement for Yahoo!

Internet and software development company Yahoo! has announced an agreement with Acresso Software to offer the Yahoo! Toolbar to over 71,000 organisations.

The deal will see the Toolbar bundled into Acresso's InstallShield software as a value add-on for the company's clients.

InstallShield is estimated to be used on over 500 million PCs worldwide and is used by the top 100 software producers in the world.

Mark Bishof, chief executive officer of Acresso Software, said: "By simplifying the addition of Yahoo! Toolbar into their installs, software producers of any size can bring Yahoo!'s powerful search functionality to their end-users while opening up brand new revenue opportunities."

In related news, Microsoft Live Search Toolbar is to be distributed on 2009 HP consumer PCs.

Microsoft is building a Live Search-enabled toolbar for HP customers with customisation capabilities within the buttons on the toolbar, providing quick and easy access to a variety of online services and tools.
