Natural content 'boosts search rankings'

5th June 2008

Websites with natural content could boost their rankings and pave the way in the future as other algorithms and systems for searching become available.

Dominant engine Google currently searches according to keywords and patterns to find the pages most relevant to the search looking for content and volume above all else, reports CodingFresh.com.

New technology, such as Powerset, could change this as it will compare the natural content of websites and can understand the terms and language used in its search area.

This would provide sites with natural content greater rankings, as opposed to Google's system based on statistics which is open to manipulation in order to get greater rankings, such as keyword stuffing and thousands of links to company's pages.

Many marketing channels interact with each other, which can be seen in Honda's 2006 to 2007 offline marketing campaign using the made-up word 'environmentology' which then was searched by consumers using Google.
