Growth recorded for price comparison website

A price comparison site has experienced substantial growth since the start of the year, it has been revealed.

The latest list of the top 50 web properties in the UK from comScore shows that moneysupermarket.com grew 79 per cent in January.

Some 6.6 million visitors were recorded in the first month of the year, taking the online product comparison service to the position of 20 on the list of the fastest growing properties between December 2007 and January 2008.

The figures have been revealed after the American Customer Satisfaction Index showed a two per cent increased in the satisfaction of consumers shopping on the web.

According to the report, the top ten gaining website categories for the month included car rental, career resources and job search tools.

Travel was also found to be a successful industry, with First Choice Holidays and British Airways all appearing in the rankings of the top ten gaining properties in January.
