Search terms related to cooking are a prominent driver of traffic to one videopedia website, it has been observed.
Web traffic monitoring service Hitwise notes that VideoJug, a site that combines information with rich media content, has climbed to number 33 in its multimedia category.
And search terms on the subject of cooking were key to driving this growth in success, with 102 of the top 200 keywords and phrases sending traffic to the site on the subject of food.
On his blog for the company, Robin Goad observes that VideoJug is just one of a new wave of websites combining information with rich media that is enjoying new success in the digital world.
"As the 'how to' industry grows, the method of delivering the information and level of user interaction will dictate which sites will dominate in the future," he asserts.
Meanwhile, comScore figures for December of last year reveal that more videos than ever were watched online during the month.
