Colour can be a good way to maximise the search engine optimisation of websites, a new blog post from Yahoo advises.
On the Yahoo! Search Marketing blog, it is recommended that web design can be boosted by intelligent use of colour.
Links that have been clicked can be distinguished from those yet to be clicked with colour, the company advises.
And content should be organised using a "clear hierarchy" with contrast utilised to make text easy to read and digest, the post adds.
Graphics should reportedly be approached with a minimalist sensibility and high-quality images should be prioritised over volume.
"A simple page layout that employs a clean visual and straightforward design is best," the firm states.
The advice comes as sector news source E-consultancy recommends the incorporation of product reviews in to e-commerce sites to boost sales, also commenting that unique product descriptions are preferable to manufacturer's item summaries.
