Domain names, keywords and content 'important' in business

Choosing a simple and memorable domain name will increase traffic to websites, it has been claimed.

According to Smallbusiness.co.uk, an online advice site for company owners and start-ups, having a simple website address will benefit a firm.

"If you can be a little bit clever about the name that you choose and also the content that you have on your site, you're much more likely to have people find you on search engines," commented Adam Wayland, editor of the firm.

However, Mr Wayland added that keywords and site content are still more important than anything else in search engine optimisation.

Kent Lewis, owner of search engine marketing agency Anvil Media, commented on his Search Marketing Standard blog that every aspect of the industry is set to grow this year.

He claimed that firms, brands and celebrities will all be focusing on their online reputation throughout the course of 2008.
