SEO 'allows small firms to compete'

7th January 2008

Search engine marketing is a successful and cost-effective marketing technique, it has been claimed.

Linda Jezard, owner of Advantage Positioning, a web development firm, told the Polk County Business Journal that search engine optimisation (SEO) allows businesses to become prominent no matter how big or small they are.

"The world is online," she said. "That's where the world is. That's where the world is going. The more educated and affluent a person is, the more they go to the web."

According to Ms Jezard, online advertising is a much more cost-effective marketing strategy, especially in comparison to running print ads in industry publications.

However, she warned that achieving successful SEO may take time but that once a company accomplishes a high ranking, it can be confident in its own success.

Search Engine Watch has previously reported that many firms are missing out on many potential customers by not factoring in SEO to their website.
