Seek help with search engine marketing, advises IAB

18th October 2007

Businesses should seek professional help when it comes to search engine optimisation (SEO), says the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB).

A meeting with a specialist search engine company will always benefit a business, it claims. They can pinpoint any weak areas and find out the business' level of existing knowledge.

"It is definitely advisable to seek professional help. Even if someone knows a lot about search engine marketing, it is unlikely they will know everything," said Jack Wallington, programmes manager for the IAB.

He explained that because of the wealth of free advice on the internet, it is hard to know what is true or false and a quick meeting could solve a company's SEO problems.

During August 2007 there were over 209 million unique visitors to search engines, reports global internet information provider comScore. Google is the leader in the industry, with 81.9 million unique visitors a month.
