New Google Blog Search homepage clusters new posts

2nd October 2008

Google has launched a new homepage for its Blog Search offering that groups new posts by subject.

In a similar vein to Google News, the new front page displays the most recent blogs on a host of topics and allows users to click through to more posts on the same stories.

Users can also navigate posts by category - such as entertainment, politics, world and technology - and view graphical data showing how each story has fared in terms of picking up blog posts over the last few hours and days.

"Grouping [posts] in clusters lets you see the best posts on a story or get a variety of perspectives," explained Michael Cohen, Blog Search product manager, on the Official Google Blog.

In other Google news, the search recently announced the availability of Google Toolbar 5 for users of the Firefox browser.

The toolbar offers features such as search, translation and bookmarks.
