MSN signs food website ad deal

9th July 2008

Microsoft-owned internet services provider MSN has announced that it has partnered with Hearst Magazines over the development of a new food-related website.

Under the terms of the arrangement, MSN will be responsible for the property's advertising sales and for the primary distribution of its content.

Meanwhile, Hearst Magazines Digital Media will run the design, development and editorial vision of the site, which has been named Delish.com.

Commenting on the deal, John Loughlin, executive vice-president and general manager at Hearst, said: "Our Digital Media unit has been working with MSN for several years and both teams see this as an opportunity to add further depth to what has proven to be a very successful relationship."

Meanwhile, Jeff Dossett, executive producer and general manager at MSN, added that there are currently 60 million unique visitors who use food-related web sites.

Earlier this month, Microsoft revealed it had formed an agreement with international firm Rodale under which it will provide the health media publisher with contextual and paid search advertising.
