'Lack of content affects SEO'

19th December 2007

Websites which lack content will find their search engine optimisation (SEO) is affected, reports Eric Enge.

The SEO expert, who is president of Stone Temple Consulting, made his comments to Search Engine Watch, warning companies that pages which appear to be duplicate in content such as pages which only differ slightly will result in a lower search engine ranking.

Mr Enge added that another common problem is that a lack in content on pages will affect SEO and recommended that all pages should contain a couple of paragraphs of unique text.

"Sites rich in content draw a wealth of inbound links. Great content will draw the links with little or no additional effort on your part to seek them out," he concluded.

The Internet Advertising Bureau have previously recommended that all businesses should seek professional help when it comes to SEO as it is unlikely that any company will know all there is to know.
