Businesses to invest more in SEO

19th December 2007

Investment in search engine optimisation (SEO) is one of the business resolutions for New Jersey companies, research shows.

Some 17 per cent of companies polled by internet marketing firm Samson Media described this as a strategy to make their businesses more profitable in 2008.

About 24 per cent said they wanted to improve website content and almost 20 per cent said they planned to step-up email marketing.

Samson Media said that about a quarter of respondents did not understand how the use of keywords could help them.

Principal Gene Sower said: "Clearly, a properly optimised site can increase web traffic -- and the business a company can expect to gain in 2008 and beyond."

The company polled executives from retail, banking, manufacturing, trades and business service companies.

It also found that 90 per cent felt that their business website had a positive impact.

Business guru Bill Balderaz recently said at a seminar that SEO press releases were a key method of reaching more influencers.
