Poker, MySpace and Britney Spears were the most searched-for terms during 2007, according to media provider Lycos.
A report by the firm found that for the second consecutive year, more web users searched for poker than anything else.
The execution of Saddam Hussein was revealed to be the most searched for news story and Transformers the most sought after film.
It also found that MySpace generated 55 per cent more searches than rival YouTube and Facebook queries increased by 200 per cent, reaching number 27 on Lycos' list.
Based on growing search queries, the report claims that television show Lost, video game Guitair Hero 3, the new Batman movie and the 2008 Presidential Election will top internet searches during 2008.
According to a Google trends report, UK users keyed Viagra, Kate Moss and hangover into the leading search engine more than any other nation during 2004-07.
