The battle of the search engines has taken another twist with news that Microsoft has revamped its Live Search facility.
According to reports, the Bill Gates-owned company is keen to wrest a larger share of the search engine market from Google and Yahoo!
Both are more popular than MSN with search users, particularly Google, which processes approximately half of all searches made globally.
Microsoft spokesperson Satya Nadella says the new search service has "made a quantum jump in search results".
"This time, we feel we can claim we are as good as Google."
According to Associated Press, one speaker at a recent search engine oriented event said that relevance of search results has previously been a problem for MSN.
While this has been improved, he said, other services - such as messaging - are not so good and do not give internet users another reason to try the MSN service a second time.
