A pair of mobile advertising deals for Yahoo!

17th June 2008

Yahoo! has formed mobile advertising partnerships with two operators, which will carry graphical marketing campaigns sold and serviced by the search pioneer.

New deals with Idea Cellular and Maxis Communications - both of which have recently introduced Yahoo oneSearch on their portals - are to develop Yahoo!'s mobile ad strategy.

Steve Boom, senior vice-president at Yahoo! Connected Life, commented: "Advertisers and our mobile operator partners recognise the value and unique abilities of mobile advertising and are positioning it as a core part of their digital campaigns."

Recent statistics from Nielsen Mobile have suggested that Yahoo! commands an 18 per cent provider share of the mobile search market, making it the second most prominent presence after Google, whose provider share is 61 per cent.

David Ko, managing director and vice-president of Yahoo! Connected Life for the Asia Pacific region, noted that the new deal is evidence of the company's commitment to delivering value to both advertisers and consumers.
