Blogging, Social Media, Twitter

Start adding your favourite Olympic players on Twitter for a very personal update of their progress in the 2012 Olympics!

The athletes have been encouraged to start blogging and to use Twitter by Olympic officials, but there are guidelines which are definitely not worth breaching, as the athletes could face rejection from the Olympics. (more…)

Blogging, Social Media Optimisation

Netmums, the perhaps lesser known parenting website than the similarly named MumsNet, has reported that less than three weeks after launching their Parent Blogging Network, they’ve had more than 550 bloggers sign up and more than 7,000 posts viewed.

This is a great response and more than 65% over those that signed up did so in the first four days. The interesting thing will be to see whether this take up continues. Parent or ‘mummy’ blogging is huge in the US, but its rise on this side of the Atlantic was echoed last month with the Cybermummy event. (more…)

Blogging, Featured, Twitter

The internet is always a mixed bag.  There are things that make you laugh, cry and sometimes feel a bit queasy but a blog from a 15- year-old in Ulverston has really made me think about my life and what I want to get from it.

My first thought was Ms Chung must have been spotted wearing something special, or that perhaps she might have won another best-dressed accolade; alas, the truth was far less palatable. Elle style award favourite Ms Chung was trending because she’d uttered the fateful words “Blogs are ridiculous; they’re just mood boards — unless you’re Tavi.” Eek, noooo! (more…)

Blogging, Tools

I’ve been blogging for some months now and during that time, I’ve played around with quite a number of tools which all do different things. One of those tools is Tynt, which I’ve been using on and off now for about a year and when I first used it, I thought it was pretty cool. However, I recently logged into my account and was very impressed with the new tools and features so I just had to talk about it! So what’s up with Tynt?

Have you ever wondered who’s copying your content? I don’t mean those content scrapers but human users like you and me. Well, Tynt is a very handy tool for finding out, and it’s got a number of handy features to go along with it, too. (more…)
