Additional Sitelinks in PPC Adverts

Google announced in June that you can now try to get 6 Sitelinks into your sponsored adverts at one time. However, this is only focused on terms with really high click-through rates, so will mostly affect brand terms.

It appears to be another step that Google has taken to help brands have a stronger presence on the search engine results because that is what the search engine believes people want; it has been like this for SEO for a while now and many of the changes made to the search results are suggesting this is the case. Google Study: 89% Uplift from Paid Search Clicks

I recently came across some interesting research by Google that shows the incremental click increase generated from paid search advertising. Overall the study suggests that a click uplift of 89% is generated by paid search advertising, which is much higher than I expected.

Of course, this study does not account for every circumstance, and openly points out those situations where paid and organic ads sit in close proximity; the uplift to clicks is minimal. (more…)
