In three days time, the world will tune in to one of the biggest spectacles on the planet – The World Cup. We’ve already blogged about companies jumping on the World Cup bandwagon, now Google have joined in with the fun.
For any normal event or anniversary, Google would usually change their logo. Not this time. This time they have tried a different tactic. Using the same “World Cup” search and scrolling to the bottom of the page, you find the normal “Goooooooogle” page numbers replaced with “Goooooooooal!”.
Furthermore, Google have now added the World Cup stadiums to Google Street View. All 10 World Cup football grounds can be viewed while a select few can also be viewed in full 360 degrees from inside the stadium thanks to Google’s very own Street View Trike.
The Street View Trike has already been used across the UK to gain access to heritage site’s such as Stonehenge, The Millenium Stadium and the Angel of the North. With Google now being armed with the cars and trikes, it begs the question of where won’t Google be able to add to Street View?!
